  23. Why should I choose the KidsTravelCard instead of one of the other cards available?

 

1. Can I get my card before I leave on my trip next week?

Yes, we have a variety of delivery options, including overnight delivery.  All of our orders ship within 24 business hours, so you can be very sure of your delivery date.

We also have a low-cost  “Instant” version of the KidsTravelCard that  you can purchase and print yourself, so there is no waiting and no shipping cost at all.  It is not as nice a product as the plastic card and you do not receive a lanyard, but it may be the answer if you need your card immediately.

2. Can I get another card? How about another lanyard?

Yes, but duplicate KidsTravelCards need to be ordered when you place your original order.  Duplicate lanyards can be ordered with the original order, but they can also be ordered separately whenever you wish.

3.What can you do when my child no longer looks like the picture on the card?

You will need to order a new KidsTravelCard.  It is also a good idea to order a new KidsTravelCard whenever information (address, phone numbers, contact information) changes.

4. Can you make the card from a school/group/snapshot picture?

We are able to use almost any photo you have.  Resolution can be an issue if the photo is very small, or if the child’s face is a small part of the picture.  Remember to let us know which child in the group shot is the one that goes on the KidsTravelCard!  We will contact you if there is a problem with the picture

5. Do you send pictures back?

We try to return the pictures when we can, but do not guarantee it.

6. Can I e-mail you a digital photo and all the information to make the card?

Yes you can, but do NOT include your credit card information in the email. That will be collected by phone to protect your security.  If you wish to pay with PayPal you can include the PayPal address, which is usually your email address.  You would then receive a request for payment from PayPal, but no payment would be made to us without your authorization.

7. Do you offer a discount for large families?

There is no discount for large families, but you do pay a flat rate for shipping regardless of the number of KidsTravelCards ordered.  You can even include other products as well, and everything will be shipped together in one flat rate envelope or box.

8. Do you have a fund-raising program for my child’s school?

9. Do you save my information for future replacement cards?

We do not save information for replacement cards in any type of database.  Your orders are saved in your account in our shopping cart.  As long as your account is still active, you can email us and request that a particular order be duplicated.  If you paid by PayPal, we can create the order and request payment through PayPal.  Credit Card information is not kept so if you paid by credit card we would have to call you for the number, expiration date, and security number.

10. Do you sell to or share our information with other businesses?

No, we absolutely do not sell or share your personal information with anyone.

11. How fast can we receive our cards?

How fast you receive the KidsTravelCards depends upon the shipping method chosen.

We now have an “Instant” KidsTravelCard option available when you need it immediately.   When you order the  “Instant” version of the KidsTravelCard you print it yourself, so there is no waiting and no shipping cost.  It is not as nice a product as the plastic card and you do not receive a lanyard, but it may be the answer if you need your card immediately.

12. What is your cutoff time each day for orders?

The normal cutoff time each day is 12:00(noon) PST. If an order is received after this time it will be processed the next day.

If you need help but have passed the deadline, give us a call and we will try to meet your needs if at all possible.

13. What type of picture do you need?

Almost any family or school photo is acceptable, but it difficult to work with tiny or poor resolution pictures.  We will resize and crop it as needed, and contact you if there is any problem with the picture you have chosen.  Any picture format is acceptable for the regular plastic KidsTravelCard, but the application form for the “Instant” card requires the jpg format.

14. I’m from another country and my address doesn’t match?

If you can not place the information in the existing fields please email it to Orders@kidstravelcard.com and we will work with you to customize the card.

15. Does this card satisfy the airline requirements for chidren’s Photo ID?

Yes, for domestic flights. The TSA does not have any specific requirements for children on domestic flights, so it is up to the individual airlines. It is always best to check with your individual airline if you want to be sure, but generally they just want a Photo ID, and ours works just fine.  When you go to the airline website to verify their identification requirements, you will generally find them in the “policies” section, or you can put “child identification” into their website search field.

Another website worth checking to research child identification requirements is “IFly.com“.  They actually recommend KidsTravelCard.com in their section on Child Identification — and we are proud to say that is not a paid ad!

16. Does this card work for overseas travel?

No, you are required to have a passport for overseas travel. However, it is still a good idea to have a KidsTravelCard in addition because the passport does not contain information designed to get the child returned to you in the event of separation or accident.

17. I have a passport for my child, why do I need a KidsTravelCard as well?

Your child’s passport is proof of identity, but it does not contain any information designed to reunite that child with you in the event you are separated.  And remember, when you are traveling the family passports are generally in mom’s purse or dad’s jacket rather than on the child’s person. Having your child wear a KidsTravelCard will help your child get back to you in the event of separation or accident.  The KidsTravelCard can also have information regarding any special needs or medical information that might be helpful for someone caring for your child in the event of an accident or temporary separation.

18. My child has special needs and medications. Is there a way to put all the information on the KidsTravelCard?

Yes! The KidsTravelCard has a very large, 200+ character field on the back for “vital information”. You can enter extra contacts, allergies, medications, health conditions, behavior issues, or any other information that you feel might be important for someone to have for your child.  The KidsTravelCard also comes with 4 removable adhesive labels for trip specific information, which could include additional contacts or medical issues not entered into the “vital information” field.

19. What are my shipping options?

You have five different options to choose from for shipping. The least expensive method is U.S.P.S. Priority Mail, which promises to deliver in an average of 2-3 days for just $6.95. You will not receive tracking information, but it is available to us internally if we needed to follow-up.  This method is inexpensive, fast, and thus far has been extremely reliable for our customers. We also offer four other choices that include tracking numbers for your convenience and comfort: “Standard Ground”
is by either Federal Express or UPS, takes 4-7 business days, for $10.99. “Expedited” is by either Federal Express or UPS, takes 3 business days, for $20.98. “2 Day ” is by either Federal Express or UPS, takes 2 business days, for $27.98.
“Overnight” is by either Federal Express or UPS, delivers the next business day, for $32.98.

20. I need badges for several kids. Can I get them without paying more in shipping?

You can order as many cards as you like, even combining several different types of cards, for one flat rate shipping charge.

21. My child is a teenager and doesn’t want to carry something that looks childish, but needs a Photo ID for a trip. What can we do?

When you order a KidsTravelCard for a child 13 or older, you will receive a TeenTravelCard instead. It has the same information, but since it says TeenTravelCard, your child will be much happier carrying it.

22. We have an adult in our family with a disability / medical condition that makes it important for people to know how to contact us if he/she is lost or in an accident. What can we do?

We now have a card for adults that is designed to include the same type of information that is included on the KidsTravelCard, but in a format for adults. The card is the AdultInfoCard, and it can be ordered online.  Remember that you can order multiple cards, including different types of cards, on the same order.

23. Why should I choose the KidsTravelCard instead of one of the other cards available?

Our KidsTravelCards are the best choice because of our outstanding customer service and the ability for maximum customization of the cards.  Our cards are designed to fulfill several different needs:

1.  They satisfy the identification requirements for most  airlines for domestic flight.

2.  They include information for not only a parent or guardian, but for an emergency contact as well.  This means that in the event of emergency when the parents could not be reached, there is someone else that could be contacted regarding the child.

3.  The “Vital Information” field on the back can contain up to 250 characters of whatever information you think might be important for someone to know.  Some common things are medical insurance policy number, passport number, blood type, any medical diagnosis or health concern, allergies, medications, or even behavioral issues.  This means that if your child is separated from you, the authorities would have some indication of how to care for them properly until they were reunited with family.

4.  We provide 4 removable adhesive labels with each order.  These labels attach to the back of the card and are designed to contain “trip specific” information, such as hotel information for a trip, trip contact name and phone, or whatever might be important at the time.  When you peel the label off the card is not obsolete, but is ready for the next trip.
